That's just unbelievably great, Richard! rolling
Richard says:  I stole that from Shane

Seriously though, I think she'll prolly do great, Peach. But I think Jeff would say to have some spare pants for both of you! icon_wink

Just do it!  Too many people think like the rangers that run the park  Willy Nilly.  If you are responsible enough to camp out in BB multiple times, you are smart enough to turn around if it gets too hairy.  Take lots of pictures and make memories you will treasure for a life time.  Half way up the trail before the skree, there are great views to the south that are as good as lost mine trail.

I think I'll see if she wants to do it.  If she wants to try, we will and if not I can always save it for another time when I take a solo trip...and I'll make a note of bringing the spare pants!

We'll give it a shot....our first time to BiBe, we camped in the backcountry...so I'm guessing my judgement call can't be all that bad! icon_lol

Of course you'll give it a shot!  I've met this child and what a precious person she is.  Start early, take lots of snacks, rest often, and enjoy a truly memorable hike!

its an awesome hike, a bit tough in places, but well worth it. Next time I do it I want to explore more of the top of Casa Grande

On your way down don't accidentally take a wash to the left instead of hitting the trail to the right. I have absolutely no idea how I know this little fact icon_redface icon_redface icon_redface icon_redface.

It is a more direct route back to the trailhead though, isn't it James?  At least it sure seemed that way to me icon_redface

I dont know. I goofed up before we got to the arch on the way down.
Edd stopped me and said we were going the wrong way. We spent 45 minutes back tracking what was only a few minutes from the spot we missed. you pick up a lot of speed going down hill Willy Nilly Willy Nilly

Hey Ray!!  How are ya?

I'm fine Peach.....overworke d and underpaid but aren't we all???  I still have some photos to send you icon_redface icon_redface icon_redface And I WILL.  I appreciate your patience.  You ARE patient aren't you?  Say hello to my taller little friend and start searching out the old threads about the Casa Grande hike on here.  There are some very good ones and you're going to love the experience.

James....I don't know exactly where I got off the trail but it was early in my hike down and I started to backtrack to find the correct one.  But the thought of going back uphill was too much for me.  It was obvious that a few others had made the same error though and I just stuck it out.  And for an old, fat guy I reached amazing speeds coming down that slope icon_rolleyes

My wife and I made the climb two years ago. I loved it, she hated it (the strenuous climb).
Considering her age at the time 53 (trust me she won't be reading this thread...she would slap me for revealing her age), I felt she did a great job. I was 48 at the time and work out regularly so a piece of cake for me.
If I remember correctly we made the climb somewhere in 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes. We explored the summit for about an hour and had lunch.
Have heard someone placed a glass jar at the top for placing notes and names with dates. We never could find it.

I HAVE to be a patient person!  With my little one...she keeps me hopping these days! icon_lol  Send the pictures when you can.  The taller little one says hi and are you going to be in BiBe after Thanksgiving.  We are planning for that first week again and will have a much sturdier tent this time...that snow and ice last Thanksgiving..yikes! icon_eek
