I am reading a book called Resist Much, Obey Little; Some Notes on Edward Abbey.  It is a book of essays on Abbey's work.  There is one essay that compares Desert Solitaire to a book called The Desert by John Charles Van Dyke.  I was wondering if anyone has read this book and if it reminded you of Desert Solitaire.  There are some wonderful quotes in the essay that made me interested in finding The Desert and reading it.
