Hi All:

Was in Big Bend this weekend at happened to drop by the Trading Post Store next to the Starlight Lounge. Was talking with Gretchen who works there, and I said to her "what was this I heard about some gun shots around here a couple weeks ago..."
The story goes one of the residents had her son (about 23 years old) visit after having just got out of a short stint in prison. He wanted to borrow her blue car for the evening and she said no. He took it anyway, then the mom reported it stolen. The 2 deputy sheriffs that live in the area spotted the car and set up a road block. The kid ran through the road block so the deputies opened fire trying to hit one of the tires and the radiator block. Both missing...the kid was found the next day drinking coffee at one of the local watering holes and a deputy talked him in to giving himself up to authorities.
The locals who sit outside the store on the porch said they haven't had that much excitement in years.

Trail? What trail?

Sounds like the local constable needs to invest in some stop sticks.  Attempting to shoot out tires on a moving car is about as hard as hitting a flea on a elephants ass! :)
