I don't use my phone much in the car, but if outlawed, then the police should not be allowed to use radio or computer in car, they are no better drivers than most others. rolling rolling

Around here, they all seem to have the cell phone stuck to their ear.  I thought they were supposed to pay attention and look for suspicious things going on...   icon_rolleyes

The Mythbusters did a test comparing driving while talking on a cell phone to driving after a few alcoholic drinks. The subjects first drove through an obstacle course unimpaired and sans cell phone to establish a baseline. Next they drove through the same course while answering questions being asked to them via cell phone. Finally, they drove the course after drinking enough alcohol to be able blow just under .08 on a breathalyzer. The subjects poorest performance on the driving course came when they were talking on the cell phone.

Don't even get me started about the women with 3+ kids in Wal Mart.  Kids are basically running rampant down the aisle while the mom talks on her cell, weaving her cart back and forth across the aisle, oblivious to the fact she is blocking access to the aisle to fellow customers.

I'm in Wal Mart to get my business done and get the hell out of dodge!

I can only guess many of these habitual cell phone chatters must have unlimited calling plans.  I pay $150+ a month for 4 Sprint phones for my family, constantly getting onto my daughters for going over our monthly minutes.

If I only had to pay for myself, I'd settle for a pre-paid Tracfone.  It would take me a year to use 500 mins.

I can hardly wait until the US Airline industry and the FAA allow cell phones to  be used on airplanes at altitude.   rolling  It's going to be so fun jammed into a hot stinking airplane, sitting in the middle seat, listening to two clowns shouting into their phone on either side of me.

Probably won't happen, more for technical reasons than anything else. While cell phones certainly work in the air, the ground station antennas are not optimized for phones a great distance above. Signals get iffy. Of course that could all be handled but then there'd probably be a near riot on a plane with everyone talking.

I honked at a person not long ago wondering why they had not pulled out in traffic, nothing was coming.  Got the bird, you know, the universal sign.

Might be a bazooka the next time.

to overcome the altitude and speed your are traveling they were going to install a microcell and antenna in the airplane and use a satellite link to get you to one of the mobile carriers.

Last I heard they canceled the voice call capability and may do more to provide WiFi on airplanes so you could still check email and surf the web.

LMAO...you know some people are just rude, ignorant and just plain don't give a crap. I personally think that MOST of the time that people use their cell phones in public where they can be seen and heard just to try and appear important.....the sad part is that nobody else cares about their business!

At work, when someone comes into my office and approaches me and continues to talk on their cell while trying to do business with me, I just keep on talking to them as much as I can to piss them off because they are in MY space wasting MY time and I don't give a crap WHO they are! I'm all for callin people out that need to be called out. I refuse to let jerks continue doing whatever the hell they want without standing up to them....
