I thought the first rule for doctors is to cause no harm.
This guy caused a LOT of harm if they had to reattach the cyclist's nose!!

I admit that i used to get frustrated with bikers because they really slow traffic down.
.... but then I bought a bike and now I am one of them. I will be on the look out for doctors

I like the way they had to close the comments section because the locals were getting ready to go over to the doctors house and give him special treatment. Maybe even the wrong doctors house. I am still wondering what sparked the road rage and what would be different if this happened in Texas... TWWG

sadly, it does happen in Texas. I know from personal and anecdotal experience that cyclists are harassed by drivers regardless of location. In the city or rural areas, it makes no difference. I don't know if it's an us against them, or the perceived right of motorists to clear the road of "slow" riders so they can get to wherever they are headed. Maybe being inside the cab of a vehicle dehumanizes and aggression comes out easier. Maybe it stokes some reaction from seeing brightly colored jerseys. Maybe some motorists just think it's their road and nobody else's.
I have witnessed motorists being aggressive towards me for no apparent reason. There is no reason for swerving, swearing, honking, gunning, tailgating. You can argue, and I'm sure someone will, that they see cyclists disregarding traffic laws, slowing down traffic, etc. Like other operators of vehicles, cyclists have been known to break the traffic law. This in no way gives anyone the right to "clean up" the street.

i know. i cycle and my friends and i get treated like crap for no reason....people can be very confrontational and we are sticklers for obeying road rules, etc.....just jerks out to spoil our fun...i've been w/groups of women on good, wide shoulders, not bothering anyone and have had women come by and flip us off and honk in mid-morning, no traffic, two lanes and we're on the shoulder??.....for what?? just *holes....jealous...maybe????? me don't know......i really want to cycle in the park (road bike) someday...as there is soooo little traffic....just a dream....of mine. Never done it before.
