I thought the first rule for doctors is to cause no harm.  eusa_naughty

This guy caused a LOT of harm if they had to reattach the cyclist's nose!!   icon_eek

I like the way they had to close the comments section because the locals were getting ready to go over to the doctors house and give him special treatment.  Maybe even the wrong doctors house.   I am still wondering what sparked the road rage and what would be different if this happened in Texas... sadly, it does happen in Texas.  I know from personal and anecdotal experience that cyclists are harassed by drivers regardless of location.  In the city or rural areas, it makes no difference.  I don't know if it's an us against them, or the perceived right of motorists to clear the road of "slow" riders so they can get to wherever they are headed.  Maybe being inside the cab of a vehicle dehumanizes and aggression comes out easier.  Maybe it stokes some reaction from seeing brightly colored jerseys.  Maybe some motorists just think it's their road and nobody else's.

I have witnessed motorists being aggressive towards me for no apparent reason.  There is no reason for swerving, swearing, honking, gunning, tailgating.  You can argue, and I'm sure someone will, that they see cyclists disregarding traffic laws, slowing down traffic, etc.  Like other operators of vehicles, cyclists have been known to break the traffic law.  This in no way gives anyone the right to "clean up" the street.

Never done it before.
