Motels instead of tents?

I have been reading about all the motel stays that a lot of folks do going to /from Bibe. Why not tent in an rv campground with all the showers, toilets and electricity and save a nice chunk of dollars? I noticed a lot of them between Del Rio and Bibe and most accept tents. You can check wwwrvparkreviews.co
m to locate them. I have done it that way most of my life in tents, popups and back of van/truck.

Motel or tent? Motel or tent? I can't decide!
If I'm tent camping . . . it would have to depend on whether or not there is a neat state or federal park to camp in, perhaps with the periodic fall back to an RV campground in order to wash clothes, refresh oneself and socialize. I could see if one "camps" every night how it could be a good idea.

While I can't speak for others it sometimes comes down to a convenience and comfort issue versus cost. It used to be on backpack trips in winter we would leave work and drive to Fort Stockton and stay in a motel. Then the next morning we would drive into the park, get our permits, and hit the trail.
In my younger days I had no problem driving straight to the park after work but now it seems to be something I don't look forward to. I never sleep real well while backpacking so having another night in a bed is a plus. Also, having a shower before heading out means I'll be slightly less grungy on the return.
In the last several years we've returned to the habit of driving straight to the park. The difference is that I have more vacation time so I don't mind taking an extra day or two off from work and getting there earlier. We tent camp in the Basin and hit the lodge for an hot breakfast in the morning.
