Too bad there aren't any photos or an actual description of the route. The track on the map is nice, but it doesn't tell you what you're looking for, what you're stepping over, and what to avoid.

Having been on top of Amon Carter Peak, it is not tricky at all.  If you have ever hiked the Window Trail the route should be fairly obvious.

Did this a few years ago twice in one weekend.  On day one we went up Carter and on day two up the peak to the south.  The south peak was the most rewarding in terms of views.  These three shots show the top of the talus slide that takes you to the saddle below Carter Peak, a view of Carter from halfway up the south peak, and a view into Cattail Canyon (including the big pouroff) from the top of the south peak.
