How exciting that they're adding this ranch to the park! If I ever get to feeling better, I really want to get up there. There was a pretty good article about Palo Duro in the travel section of the NY Times just this past Friday! It has a great photo of the lighthouse and it was almost a full page! It also mentions the museum in Canyon, the Panhandle-Plains historical museum, which has 'quite a range of exhibits: the headdress of the famous Comanche chief Quanah Parker; a stunning Georgia O'Keefe oil of Palo Duro named "Red Landscape;" and interesting temporary shows like the display of firearms produced by the Colt company that was there this summer'...has anyone been there??? well, for now, I'm just living vicariously through you guys so....ya'll keep on posting your trips.......Randell's PDC trip post was way more interesting/cool/personal than the NYT article and photos even better! however, it's always nice to see beautiful parts of tx in the news...
