That thing keeps shifting south, I might wind up having to get worried.

Getting worried doesn't help a thing...just get ready. I don't wish a hurricane on anyone but anywhere is better than my neck of the woods. I think all of us near the coast better get ready! this season is an exceptionally busy one for us, it seems. Just be safe, whether you stay or go. Gustav was a practice run for us. We're still packed...

Don't worry Roy, if these models' predictions keep up this trend, Ike will hit Tampico or farther south. Veracruz, anyone?

Yes, the morning update from the National Hurricane Center shows it in deep South Texas now.  So...it does appear to keep getting itself pushed further south...

((((((breathing a sigh of relief)))))

I would think the mountains would really break Ike up once he hits that portion of Mexico. At most, he should hit land at a 2.

Maybe it's because I'm using Firefox 3.0... but stormpulse maps are all goofy... none of the city names match where they belong on the maps.
