It will be very interesting seeing where the beach ends up. Lots of houses down there are serious candidates for becoming state property.

Jerry Patterson is not making many new friends right now.  I've got a slew of articles to post on him one of these days.   eusa_shifty

Houston Chronicle had a picture on the front page the other date of the front of the seawall - there was no longer a beach...   icon_cry

A mate of mine in the off-shore engineering business sent me these of two different rigs...  Might be in need of a little repair action..

I went for a bike ride through Seabrook last Saturday. Lots of houses with RVs and campers in the driveways, as the houses are still unliveable. Quite a few houses missing or moved on Todville Road (next to Galveston Bay). Debris still everywhere. Rode past the "refrigerator graveyard" where there were a couple of hundred units that had been collected for disposal. Didn't see it but heard from a friend of a house that's on stilts. Problem was the owners moved their boat under the house to protect it.... when the water rose, so did the boat, which is now sticking up through their living room floor. Looks like I'll be looking for a new barbershop, as the one I've been going to there for amost two decades was flooded out. Phil the barber was getting close to retirement, so this'll probably send him packing.

Drove through Nassau Bay again today. The fridge at Al's old house didn't make it, as it's out on the sidewalk. The majority of the houses on Upper Bay Road by the lake sustained major damage. Quite a few have been completely gutted.

Our insurance adjuster is scheduled to come out to our house on Thursday. Hopefully they'll spring for a new roof instead of just a repair, as it definitely needs to be replaced.

Richard, thanks.  Wonder if they just decided to trash the fridge because it was old and full of rotted food.  I remember growing up there used to be a beer join in Seabrook called Mickey's every time there was a major storm it flooded and they rebuilt it, albeit, smaller.  This happened twice that I remember.  The areas that used to flood are still the areas that flood.

Man, is it just me and my ancient PC or is Google Earth extreeeeeemely slow when using this?

See this house? It's circled in yellow in the attached image. I'm guessing they're going to have a hard time selling it unless that black line moves out quite a bit.
