Yes, it is on private lands...and if i am not mistaken, that area is part of Serrania del Burro. Some friends of mine went there ,last year while i was happily fixing mechanical problems onmy truck here.

Now for the expert man in me, well if you think i am an expert ha!, you might just be in for a big surprise icon_lol....and a dissapointment icon_frown

I will probably post something ,when the date gets nearer but last time i did this..i jinxed myself, before i ever left Acuņa rolling

Octuber the 24th...how does that sound?.....Sierra del Carmen: But you have to have a 4x4 vehicle.

Homero, too short a fuse.  I do have access to a highly modified jeep and maybe a Baja Bug.  But this will take more planning.  I look forward to going with your group in the not too distant future.  I very much appreciate the offer.

I would really like to go too. would definitely take planning and correspondence.  i live in North Carolina, so even though BB feels like home, it's a little bit of a trip for me to get to the area.  also, i don't know about border crossing and all that now or whether it's even possible or legal.  i know you can't cross to the little village in Mexico anymore near Rio Grande Village.

i will look for your posts though.

I understand that you folks see a trip over to Mexico, specially the area of The Del Carmens as an adventure. It truly is,but i was thinking since most of you that come over to Big Bend, and there you are admiring the Del Carmens from a point where you can only get to see them now a days... icon_cry icon_frown icon_cry. Maybe there could be a chance to actually get to them....Live and in person icon_lol.

Sure, we can talk more of this for the future, but even still if you want to go and visit them from Mexico;it can be a hassle because of all the logistics and planing to get to them. There is more infrastructure to go near them: More paved roads and byways, but i have to return again this year to report on the updated accounts to get to them. To cross over in to Mexico, is actually a no brainer: You cross from a legal port of entry, bring your U.S. proof of citizenship, buy a permit (like we do when we go in deeper to u.s.soil) and just drive over there. The problem could be when coming home for you guys. I don't know exactly what INS/HLS is requiring as obligatory to enter U.S. citizens back to U.S.soil...you have to check it out for yourselves.

Now.if you just want to cross the river on your own and meet us in Boquillas ...weeelll eusa_whistle, I never said you could: It is $ 5,000.00 bucks (in fines) if you get caught. You make the call.

Homero, not to worry.  With these river flows, I doubt there will be many river crossings at Boquillas even with a tricked out jeep.

El Paso?  I guess that would be how I would have to return into U.S.

Or I could buy a Ninja outfit for Halloween and just use that to cross under cover of darkness somewhere in a remote part of Boquillas Canyon.  If I get caught, my excuse would then be that I was coming home from a party and must have gotten lost.
