Nice one...But seriously, does anyone here know? I'm supposed to film there in 8 weeks...And along the river road, as well.....Any updates on them?

Hope you didn't want to film at the Hot Springs, they may end up being totally destroyed by this flood which could easily wash away the remaining cement structures and leave the hot springs vent under the muddy water of the Rio Grande below river level.  In other words not very attractive for bathing.   As it was the rotten wall of the hot springs holding back the Rio Grande was in sad shape and usually only a few inches above river level.   I suspect after this flood all that will be left of the historic area and springs will be a few cement slabs and a slight warm spot in the muddy river... TWWG, you might be right about that.  I haven't actually been in the hot springs but I've been to the area a couple of times and it always looks like the people in the water were enjoying it.  The walls were really crumbly and it probably wouldn't take a whole lot to completely wash them away.

Agree with the comments about Hot Springs...

Looking at the daily report today and the river level (vs flood stage) shows that this is a pretty massive flood...

Man... I didn't think about it. I'm not filming there, but I've been there, and would be sad to see it go. The two lowest points I'm looking at are the aforementioned East River Road to Fresno campsite, and the Contrabando Site.

I'm hoping the River road is still passable by a 2wd trailblazer in 8 weeks, or I may have to rethink it....

Ahhh...Such is life...

wouldn't it be great if the floods killed all the
Tamarisk ??

I doubt it, but it's a nice thought.

Anyone know the fate of the 'Contrabando' site?

This is what I found out about Contrabando. Not great but could be worse.

Awesome! THANK YOU for finding this...

I was expecting much worse...In fact, if it got rid of that particular building in the foreground in the photo that was badly deteriorated already (and an eyesore), it may have even done more good than harm!!!  I guess we'll just see....
