Unfortunately, due to the increased amount of completely useless spam posts made by losers across the world, namely in Africa and Asia, I have no option but to discontinue the privilege of guest posting.  I am sad to see this feature go, but it makes life harder for Richard and myself.   I am sorry I have had to do this.

That's okay with me. You clearly have no other choice.

With over 1000 members there are plenty of people to play with.  The guests who want to play can just join up.  Thanks for keeping everything running smooth.

No problemo. I don't know many forums that DO allow guest posting. I'm surprised you had it for so long.

Well, I'm glad you guys see things the way you do, but I have always had great pride with the Open Post feature, thinking since guest posters were not allowed to post their email or links within their post, they would not waste their time.  I like to keep the forum as open as possible to avoid looking like a pretentious "members only" club.  As Richard said to me today in a PM, perhaps we can open it back up in a couple of weeks and see what happens.

The only thing i see happening is that the Spammers-Hackers are going to be waiting for an opportunity to get in again and start posting porn sites. They have targeted the BBC server and they will not easily go away.

I heard they even have computers punching in codes to see which one opens some special folder or back door.

 Just my thoughts.

Do what you need to, Big Guy.  Allowing guests to post would be great in an ideal world, but that world doesn't include spammers.

I was actually posting pics on the old board when that killer spam attack hit.  Don't let that happen here. eusa_pray

There's really no need to allow guest posting anyway.  So this is a good move.

Good move.  Recently I changed a setting on my email.  The next day I received several spams.  Changed it back and no problem.  Point is, it only took one day for the spammers to find a hole.
