Wow. Looks like my visit to Closed Canyon in November just got scrapped. I'll have to give Mr. Weber a call in a few weeks to see what I can expect.
Thanks for the post!!!

I agree with you Undertaker to me is passable, but most folks here drive on asphalt and the cruise control ON...and a Starbucks mug on the other hand. No stickshifts, transfer cases or lockout axle hubs.

Unfortunately, it looks like Hurricane Norbert (helluva a name for a storm) could dump a good bit of rain in the watershed. If it does, it's all going underwater again.

Could be; right now the projected path takes it north right towards El Paso. It's currently a Cat. 3, but is supposed to weaken before landfall. Hope they're right

Right now its down but still bringing lots of water. Center is now projected a little south of El Paso. If it stays on that path rain bands will probably flood the Mexico dams and they will have to release more again. Levees are saturated and if it rises close to 30 feet again I personally have my doubts about them holding.

If this keeps up Big Bend will be a jungle instead of a desert. Hope Homeros head is above water.

No...were cool over here. We were actually talking about that a couple of days ago, some friends and i. It is very difficult for the waters up in Luis L.Leon to do any damage to us, since it has to hit Amistad Dam fisrt , and that is a big hole to fill ,let me tell you then they would open the gates again to discharge some water to the Rio Bravo river, and all would be back to normal. The Luis leon reservoir is up to a point, manageable.
No, the real damage regionally , it could happened were if some numbnut decided to blow up Amistad Dam...that would really kill everything down river (Del Rio, Acuņa,Piedras Negras,Eagle Pass,Carrizo Springs the part that sits in the valley,Laredo Tx and Laredo Mexico, all the way down to El Falcon Dam. Now if another nut were to blow up El Falcon, well you can kiss the Valley area goodbye and start calling it, the American Venice. For good.

Good to hear that Homero, we could use a little water in central Texas.

No digestive system byproduct there Undertaker. Austin has had less rain this year so far than PJ. More than Lajitas though.
