So the wife is going to Vegas with her Gay friends to see Beth Mitler(sp).  I am headed out for a weekend away from the world.  I am not camping and staying in Terlingua, for the weekend in a house we have rented.   So I have never been in Terlingua on a Friday where is all the night life other then Boat House and Front Porch.  I am taking a Newbie out there and we will be in a beer drinking mood.

Agree with Voni. I also love the Starlight for dinner, but you may want to check out Phat Cafe for a different experience if it's still open? Reservations recommended.

Phat Cafe is closed. :(

Nathan is supposedly tending an establishment here in S.A., but so far I've not had much luck locating his new dining establishment.

I'd hang out at La Kiva for a surreal and interesting experience.

There are rooms off to the side that look interesting and worth exploring.

There's a bit of ancient natural history preserved on the walls  icon_wink

And, if you're feeling adventurous, there's a subterranean lair.

Surly, rude customers end up in the freezer.

I second La Kiva. No other place like it.

Sorry about Phat. Nathan isn't running one in SA, he's working for someone else and building up a financial reserve. Maybe another Phat one day, but not now.  We miss him.  Phat really wans't a beer drinking hangout anyway.

Mexican food is good if you are interested. Tivo is moving back across the road from Rio Bravo. All the Mexican food places are bring your own. And again, they are more family oriented and not beer drinking hangouts.

Yeah, I didn't go to Phat for the beer. I went there for the food. The food was awesome! If I could find out more info about where Nathan went to in S.A., I'd be more than happy to try out the grub there, too... Even if it isn't entirely his own work. Like I say though, no such luck finding 'im so far.
