Has anyone stayed in the ADA rooms in Casa Grande?
« on: February 20, 2015, 11:49:43 AM »
The ADA room with one double bed was the only room I could get. There will be three of us sharing the room. My question is how much floor space is there left to set up a cot or folding mattress? I spoke to the reservationist and she said there was room for a rollaway bed but not much more. I was actually hoping there would be enough space for two people to sleep on the floor. We can bring our own camp style bedding to do that. Are these rooms much smaller than the ones with two beds? I couldn't find any pictures of these ADA rooms. Thanks in advance for any information.

I have not stayed in the room you are inquiring about.
However, the only time I stayed in the lodge, it was my family of five.  And since we exceeded the four person norm for the room, they required us to rent the rollaway bed for our fifth person (they claimed something about fire code I think).
So we had them bring the bed in.  There was hardly any room to move at all after that thing came in.  It was more of a fire hazard having it in there blocking our maneuvering abilities.
So my point is that the bed took up almost all of any potentially usable floor space in our room.  Maybe this is useful information for you.

Thanks, tx1c.  I was hoping that since the ADA room had only one bed there would be more floor space. However I have little choice since that's all they have for the Spring Break week so I'll make the best of it. I'll report back on the space issue after my visit in case anyone is interested.

I have 6 kids.  I never tell people how many we have in the room.  The kids sleep on the floor.

Alas! I spilled the beans when I made the reservation. I just hope to god they don't force us to get the roll away. They are the most uncomfortable things and will just take up space.

Try putting the rollaway mattress on the floor.

RichardM - thanks - If forced to get the rollaway bed, I just might do that if there is room on the floor. My camp bedding would be more comfortable than the rollaway mattress so I hope I won't have to get the bed.
