Moderator Note: for lack of a better place, I've moved the following responses from this post to this topic.

Hi,

Nice to meet you -- it seems my questions will never end either, but this one is something I need to figure out ASAP.

What is a nice cheap place to stay at when we come to visit the second week in July?  I can't find many with a website -- which means phone calls and no background from anyone I know about their visit -- or knowledge of owners.  Please let me know where you'd go?  It has to be in the Study Butte area -- my husband said he could meet up with his agent easier.  Please give me some rates, names of hotels/motels/anything with A/C, a bed, shower ---  Thanks!

This is where I always stay. Pretty rustic but if you don't like it, you could move to a more luxurious place once you have a look around. Just book one night to start. In July, there will be lots of rooms available.

BTW, July is the perfect time for your visit - give you an idea of the heat you will have to endure.

The Chisos Mining Company Motel is usually the cheapest place to stay. It's like stepping back in time to the 70's as well. The Big Bend Resort (formerly Big Bend Motor Inn) is a little more expensive, but slightly more updated. The newest place in Study Butte is Las Casitas, which has gotten very favorable reviews here on BBC.

I'm always in a tent near Big Bend so I've never stayed at a hotel near Sturdy Butt, but you could probably sift through this list and see if anything is cheap.
