Terlingua Nights
« on: February 20, 2019, 04:34:15 PM »
Just saw this place listed on Google Maps. Right across 118 from the Chili Pepper Cafe. Anybody stayed there yet?

They posted a pretty big (15MB) "activity guide" with lots of info:

ME, you remember we saw that place when we were leaving the Chile Pepper after breakfast in December, and we wondered what it was!

That property was for sale two years ago pretty cheap (8 acres with power and 118 frontage for $15k). The owner was having trouble paying for the cabin construction. I nearly pulled the trigger. Guess someone with deeper pockets picked it up and is taking it to the bank.

Replacing the Chisos Mining Company?

Closer to the Chile Pepper. Farther from the Starlight. I guess it depends on whether you’re a morning person or a night person.

I was interested in developing a different kind of venture on the roadside, but if I find another property with similar advantages, I would consider making an alternative to CMC with a shower and comfy beds for you hikers.

Down loaded and printed it last night. Its got alot of information in it that will be useful. Also some tidbits of history and phone numbers that could be useful. Pretty well thought out. Thank you for posting it.
