According to one of our local weather dudes:

Quote
The weekend will be a bit cooler as some kind of Pacific tropical system appears likely to send some moisture into Texas.

Sounds like good news of possible rain this weekend!  :great:

I think NWS would disagree.

Richard that is so cool, thanks for posting that.  It is eerie how consistently it starts about now in June.

The North American Southwest monsoon is very regular. Most of the moisture that enters the BiBend is transported from the Pacific/Gulf of California.

Here's the Panther Junction rain profiles. 2011 and earlier seems to be missing a lot of precip data, so I only platted back to 2012.

The sky is crying.

Forgive the maudlin. I celebrate the summer rain as much as anyone, but first thing I saw when I opened the post was Richard's picture. I was reminded of his ever-helpful presence. It's going to take awhile to get over it.......

This is a perfect example of the lengths to which Richard went to be helpful.  To have searched and posted someone else's work would have been great enough, but he platted the data for 7 years and created those graphs!

Thing is he enjoyed doing things like that.  Yes, he was geeky that way!  But he wasn't totally left brained.  He was also a good musician and singer.
Six years between trips - way too long.

Should taper off around noon or early afternoon. Quite a few sites available in the basin campground... 63 degrees!
