By the way, how can we get gigs on that Board?
Taking Zinke out of things...They are board members. Paid... advisory board...members and they only had a few months left in their term. Did their pay result in less pay for the real working people in the field? The smoke and mirrors that happens with ALL news outlets today always prompts me to dig a little (followed HMOD's link) past the title to see what is in there. They were going to leave anyway... by now everyone should be aware that "the media" leads you. Joseph Goebbels would be proud of all of them. Once you have a "favorite team" your perception is skewed. "Cleaning house" by an administration is normal protocol. Did we have a bipartisan panel before BO was elected? Did we need one? Or was the creation of the board "payment" for votes? Did BO "clean house too"? His handlers in the media didn't report unfavorable acts. So how would we find out? "The bipartisan panel was appointed by President Barack Obama and the terms of all members who quit were set to expire in May."
Here's the formal part of the process for getting on the board. Also looks like the Trump administration was NOT expecting to lose nine members of the board anytime soon.https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2017/11/16/2017-24827/national-park-system-advisory-board-request-for-nominations
https://www.nps.gov/resources/advisoryboard.htmSee the charter, which states that total annual expenses of the board including staff support is $200K, so I don't think any of the members are in it for the money, as has been suggested above.Hey, my wife just retired. I could use any extra pocket change.
