New superintendent named for Big Bend National Park

This notice was recently sent to Big Bend National Park employees:

Dear Big Bend team

It is my pleasure to announce to you today that Cindy Ott-Jones, currently
Superintendent of Lake Meredith National Recreation Area and Alibates Flint
Quarries National Monument, will be the new Superintendent for Big Bend
National Park.

Cindy comes to BIBE as proven leader and tested manager with more than 30
years of experience with the National Park Service. Cindy's experience
includes two tours as a park Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent detail,
and a park Chief Ranger. Cindy's Enter on Duty (EOD) will be September
23rd. Prior to that date, Cindy will be reaching out to you all and
beginning the transition with Bill.

Please join me in welcoming Cindy to her new position.

My guess is she is being rewarded for a long and distinguished career.  What a great assignment!

Well, there she is.  I wonder if she is the first non-male Superintendent of BIBE? 

Welcome.  Maybe she will actively participate in BBC?   

Maybe RichardM will create a special TOPIC thread just for her - Superintendents Corner or something like that?

Hope she is successful in the new job. 

My earlier comment was laced with envy.  I'd think that job would be one of the primo Super's job in the NPS.  BIG park, but not the BIG headaches of the busy parks like Yosemite, Yellowstone, and Grand Canyon.
