A brief follow up on my passport-specific circumstances as I'm seeing conflicting things about passports being/not being affected by the shutdown.  It seems if you must go anywhere anytime soon, you may as well pay handsomely.  I'm thanking my lucky stars though as my passport managed to show up in the mail yesterday afternoon...less than 2 weeks' since submitting all of my stuff makes me think they were in hurry to churn these out for non-red flag types prior to the new FY/shutdown possibility!

non-red flag types

Oops, should probably qualify this statement to be of nothing political/judgmental by any accord  :eusa_whistle: Meaning, I've never had a passport issued and have only left the country when you didn't need one to go to el otro lado!

Interesting closing state roads, who is paying for enforcement, guessing park personnel are not being paid, to bad, maybe they should work for we the people.
Visiting BB since 1966, nothing like being lost and finding heaven.

Interesting closing state roads, ...

Yeah, that's what I thought too, however...

Quote from: TxDOT email

    Good morning Mr. [fartymarty],

US 385 and SH 118 (near Study Butte) both end at the National Park border (they do not continue into the National Park).  Since the roadways within the National Park are under their jurisdiction, they do have the authority to close these roads.

    Thank you

Fort Worth
