Randall,

Good job for a SE TX flatlander. Nice photos (D300?)

Thanks.  I worked hard to get in shape for it.  Next time I'll be smart enough to get enough sleep.  I'm just using my trusty old D80 which has a sensor that is getting very dirty.  I've either got to send it off for cleaning or get the courage to order a kit and clean it myself.  Too many trips to the beach/desert/mountains/backyard/river.

Randall, nice pics!  You are a better man than I, even back in my prime.  Also having been a flatlander, 12,500' MSL is my limit for potentially enjoyable hiking.

Randell, awesome trip! Good for you for pushing through and doing what you set out to do even if you weren't feeling great. You made some great memories and the photos are wonderful! It always amazes me to see snow in July!

Great report Randell!  So would you believe that on Monday a friend called me and asked if I would be interested in doing Grays Peak next summer.  (Last summer he and I did Mt. Whitney, which is only a few feet higher than Grays).

We're going to do it...and I'll probably pick your brain on tips as we get closer.

Thanks for posting this.
