floating the Frio August 28-29th possible?

The Frio is super low right now.  What is the best float trip right now (most deep water with the least walking)?  - put in location and take out point

Thanks in advance!

We're hoping to tube the Frio, if not we'll settle for swimming in its clear pools.

I was just there a week and 1/2 go. do not put in at 7 bluffs, its a lot of walking. It took us about 3 hours

go to Happy Hollow cabins just north of Concan but before Garner State Park. They have a good drop off spot, it had some walking but had some good floating spots as well. I think the drop off is called Rio Frio, but Im not sure.  It was about 2 hours and 25 minutes.
We always use a shuttle, but the take out is at Happy hollow. It did look like the floating would be good down river from Happy hollow, but we did not go that far.

Also we usually go down stream a little ways from the small dam wall at Garner state park, it gets deep and slow moving. Also a good spot to swim is right there in Concan by the Neils Cabins.

Are you going to check out the bat flights when you are there?

My husband and I just took a trip down the Comal over the weekend. We started early, about 9:30 and avoided the big crowds I think. The water was lower than it typically is but we didn't have to walk the river at all and there are many places I couldn't stand. It was a great trip, there are so many places to rent tubes from too, they will drive you to the drop off and pick you up, bring you around again if you'd like. I don't know if it's the best place to tube, I love the Frio, but there is certainly more water in the Comal than the Frio, Sabinal, or Guadalupe from what I have been hearing.
