Government Canyon State Natural Area- San Antonio, TX
« on: March 06, 2008, 10:05:51 AM »
The family and I did Gov't Canyon last weekend and boy was it a treat.  I had been there before, but never spent as much time in it.  We hiked for about 4  hours and took a little siesta under the Spanish Moss lined Oak Trees....great place!

There was a write up in the Houston Chronicle on Sunday regarding Government Canyon.  Didn't find a URL to it from the Chron website...

That oak is located on the Joe Johnston Route (the main trail that lead through the park), about 3.3 miles from the trailhead.
