Went packing in the S. San Juans but got snowed out.  On the way back to Texas, at the top of Cumbres Pass, we met a man named Steve, 50 years old with a big smile, who was thru-hiking the Continental Divide Trail.  For the second time.  AND, he casually mentioned he'd also thru hiked, solo, the Pacific Crest Trail and the Appalachian Trail, he reckoned his accumulated miles at something around 14,000,"so far."  On this trip he'd left the border in Montana on June 13 aiming for ca. 25 miles per day with a 45 - 50 pound pack.  Damndest hiker I ever had the privilege of running across ...
