Lost Maples State Natural Area - May 2-3
« on: May 11, 2009, 08:27:36 AM »
Two day trip to Lost Maples SNA. I hiked the East trail to the West trail, then the West Loop trail. Camped in area H. Next morning I continued on the West Loop trail back to the West trail along Can creek. At the Ponds I connected to the East trail back to the parking lot.

Thanks for posting.  My son and I were there back in Sep 2008.  Went there for just some day hikes back in December and again in April.  Nice park.

Don't know how I missed this...great pics! LM is our all time favorite non BiBe destination. I have never seen it this green, as we have only been either at Thanksgiving (2 times out of about 7 have we caught the leaf color just right) or early Spring Break (mid March - trees are still naked). We've hiked every inch of every trail out there and the West Trail especially through Mystic Canyon is our most fav of all. Am excited about the recent addition to the park. More, trails to explore, hopefully along the upper reaches of Can Creek perhaps.
