Pictures from the time I cheated on my favorite place
« on: October 28, 2008, 11:36:01 PM »
i'm sorry Big Bend, i'll never do it again  :icon_frown: I had to see the grand canyon just once though!

i was only there for a few hours (stopped "on the way" to California to drop a friend off at Grad School), so i only did the easy sights, which was very much worth it  :eusa_clap:

No need to apologize.  The Grand Canyon IS simply incredible.  Thanks!

Beautiful pictures.  We were there in 1980 and again in 1983.  Hiked to Indian Gardens.  Incredible place for sure.

The Grand Canyon was the first backpacking trip I ever went on.  Did a rim to rim hike when I was 15.  I fell in love with the GC and backpacking on that trip.  Now I want to spend everyday with a pack on my back.

Very nice, I've only been once and also for just a few hours.  Been wanting to go back ever since.  Great photos as usual Viper!

To see the Grand at its "grandest", take a trip to the north rim some time during the first or second week of October. I've seen few things as beautiful as looking down into the canyon through the gold of the aspen and the scarlet of the maple. The other advantage is that it is amazingly empty at that time of the year as they usually close the north rim after the second week of October.

You drove all the way to California, when the river was at 15+feet?!?! Shame on you.   :eusa_naughty:
