Upper Guadalupe River Jan. 29
« on: February 01, 2012, 06:14:46 AM »
The rain we had last week finally brought enough water to paddle the upper Guadalupe River.  It has been over a year and a half since I had last been able to paddle that section!  Weather was beautiful, and the water was tolerable for an involuntary swim.

Here is a video of our exploits:

Looked like fun!  :high5: Except for that involuntary swim in icy cold water.

Thanks!  This was just a day trip, so we didn't camp.  Regrettably, the Upper Guad has very few places to camp as it is mainly private land and "no trespassing" signs.  I have heard that you can camp within the boundaries of the state park, but you risk being ticketed because the park regs prohibit primitive camping outside of designated sites.

I definately would not want to get caught camping in the Honey Creek area.  They are very particular about that area.
