Mcdd:  Thanks for the trail map and the link to the fire restrictions.  Guess they didn't get the weeks of rain we got inundated with here.

Snowfall in the Sacramentos can be pretty sporadic. During a good El Nino year they can get up over 300 inches of snow. I've snowshoed in 5 ft. of snow at 8,000 ft in Southfork Canyon before. Other years I have been along the crest at 9,500 ft with only a slight dusting of snow in February. It is a forgiving area in that temps are usually not too cold in the winter (in 5 winter trips it has never dropped below the upper teens). Solitude is usually pretty good in the winter as well.
