How about a discussion of Chinati Peak?
Quicksilver

Be a pretty short discussion.
Yeah, no one knows, or cares. I meant maybe another "survey". But you are correct, it is not even an issue.

Oh, trust me, I care.  I have long sought the opportunity to explore Chinati SNA.   I would rather be "patient", I'm a patient man, and allow it to come about - hopefully in my lifetime.   I'd really hate for TPWD to sell it or "give it" to the GLO.  I suppose TPWD could return it to the owner - but then it might be sold into private hands and access lost forever.  I suppose the owner could ask for it back - depending on what provisions it was donated under.  It's a good piece of land to have in the inventory.  Short of someone starting up a "Friends of Chinati" and securing outside funding and applying pressure to the legislature and TPWD, and not I, I think we should just let it sit there and age.

I have read the terms and provisions of the Mellon grant. They can take it back.  (no hunting allowed)

Are we talking Christmas Mountains or Chinati?  I was under the impression that an "individual" or "estate" donated Chinati to TPWD?
