After Christmas trip with my grand daughter.
« on: January 11, 2011, 08:00:33 PM »
I fulfilled a long standing promise to take 10 year old, Eden on her first backpacking trip. Because of time constraints, I opted for a quick and easy trip to Lost Maples. She had to have a video to show her class so here it is. Turn on your speakers.

Oh, to be 10 again!
Cute, witty, and she can cook too!  You may not have many 'solo' hikes in your future.

Reece, I must say, I love your choice of music!!!  Two of my favorites are on that video, but you forgot 'miles and miles of texas'!   :icon_biggrin:

What a great hiking companion!
I hope this is just the beginning of many more adventures the two of you have.
Are we there yet?

She is a cute kid and seems very smart.   I will have to wait a little while on my grandson as he is not 2 yet.  But it will be worth the wait.

Very smart, hard worker, gregarious and politically savvy.
Voted "Student of the Year" at her school in Baton Rouge.

On a sadder note...
She just received her first "B" on a report card - spent 2 hours crying it out. If I know her, she won't let that happen again.

Baton Rouge has 2 great things going for it.  Your granddaughter and my grandson.  And of course, LSU!!!
Grandson is at Episcopal School where my daughter-in-law teaches.

Great video!
Ah Big Bend, we will soon return to reacquaint ourselves in our ritual of blood, exhaustion and dehydration. How can we resist the temptation to strip ourselves of the maladies of civilization?
