New Mission: Open Chinati State Natural Area

We're on a roll.  The collective "we" got good results with the Christmas Mountains and hopefully before too long the opening of the border between Big Bend and Ole Mexico.  Ok, time to shift gears and change directions 270 degrees and focus on the area west of the Christmas Mountains.

Chinati State Natural Area is owned by the citizens of Texas and administered by the  Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife, TPWD. 

I'm not a subscriber to Texas Monthly, but there was an article June 2011 regarding the Chinati Mountains.

1.  Determine the status of the area.
