Reaching the Bridge, under current maintenance, we saw two entrances: One that takes you to the river look out and stone picninc tables, nice place and the other easily identified by the abandoned gas station which takes you to the Pecos Marina.

We checked out both. You get a spectacular look of the Pecos bridge from here...

which if you compare it to the take on the video on You tube , there is an inmense difference of the river level from the time when they took the video and the present time.Amazing how much the river has grown,is all the up to the Canyon Walls. :icon_eek:

Try and watch this on HQ mode....a nice video,if i may say so.

Me playing with my kiddos, actually giving my little one a hard time on the edge of the river...

You can see she is not the photogenic, just doen't like to her picture.

A nice place to go and explore, or just have a rest, grab a bite, take a breather, just give a stretch of the legs why going or coming from Big Bend. You should try it...

A nice perspective of how wide and big The Pecos river really is..

The Pecos Marina, very used by fisherman who come from all the area,Sanderson,RockSprings,Comstock,Alpine,Odessa a lot of boats that day.

Stay thirsty, my friends.

At the river level, actually it is the river put in and out for the boats. There is the fee station there, some informative reports and you get a chance to check out all the nice installations.Bathrooms for those in an urge, another nice look out of the river facing the view where it meets with the Rio Bravo (Rio Grande) and how the water is still chiseling the rock walls as many eons before and now.

You could actually catch some Zzzz's there ,i did along with my baby daughter whom fell asleep on my arms. My wife and kids went out to check the place and capture these nice pictures, somehow i manage to recup some of the loss in sleep time there and could manage to drive back and get my second wind and enjoy my trip back...

Another nice shot on the river's edge..

The rockwalls by the river...

I am one lucky dog....

Be careful what you wish for you two, because I WILL take you with me on the next 4x4 adventure and it wont be like this walk in the park.... :icon_twisted:

Longing for more action...hehehehehe...they do not know what i have in plans for them.

One last shot from the river's look out...

I must say this is one hell of a way to finish my trip report, but i won't.Not yet.

I wanted to share these videos i found on YouTube as well.

This one kind of shows the camping sites, which i did not manage to take pics of and a rock art tour as well. Some history of the name of the Canyon is also mentioned by the tour guide too.

This one is nice because you get a chance to see from a boats view Panther Cave,Parida Cave (Parida means birthing is spanish), and old blasted railroad caves that were never finished by the R.R. companies at the time, very cool places to check out some day.

Well that is it. We returned back to Del Rio and grab some nice burgers at the Sonic Drive thru, packed some goods we needed for our home and said goodbye to Del Rio.Crossed over to Piedras Negras and called it a night, i had a long snoring and restful sleep Sunday night and woke up like a million bucks all recharged and all. A terrific weekend trip to a natural and amazing place.

I leave you now with a message of hope: We seldom take a moment to enjoy our wonderful world,It is so beautiful we sometimes take things fro granted, soak up our daily obligations we seldom miss our surroundings.

It is always a good time to start and really check out our amazing and spectacular world. You do not have to go down to Big Bend to see this..enjoy life with it's up and downs and long for family moments, even if it only with you husband or wife.

This is a nice song by Mr. Louie Armstrong i Love..captures all my meaning and a whole lot more.Que la disfruten,God be with you. Muchas Gracias for your time....

Great report Homero! Sounds like it was a wondeful trip for all of you all. You've inspired me to get out to Seminole Canyon this fall to check it out for myself.
  Thanks!
