Anyone in Austin? REI/Cam ?...
« on: December 26, 2008, 09:55:52 AM »
I haven't called 'em since they aren't open just yet, but I am looking to buy an underwater camera bag for my little Sony cam... This is a last second purchase, and I would need it by tomorrow evening.

Reason I'm posting this? I need help! If any of you are in Austin and you happen to be driving to S.A. by tomorrow eve, I could really use a favor! Drop me a line. If you are operating under a last second schedule like I am and if you already know you can pull this off, send me a PM w/your digits. The item number I'm looking to get from REI is 752136. Aquapac Compact Waterproof Camera Case.

Wish I could help, Stingrey, but we're not headed that way until next week.  I did see that this item is sold at Cabela's, but I doubt that helps much.  Have you tried any of the SA SCUBA shops or canoe & kayak shops?

I got hooked up guys! Burn Ban & I are working this last second purchase out, and it just so happens to be that the puzzle pieces fit into place pretty neatly for all of us.

Was definitely trying the local cam & scuba shops today. No luck though, and most places didn't have the small cheap bag that I was after.

The REI one has fits my "play" cam just fine and at the right price, too! There are some heavy duty cases out there, but to be honest I don't even know how much use this one will get during our outing next week.

Burn Ban, thank you so much!!! Hopefully you don't do like me and accidentally drop a couple of more $$$ on some other random gear @ REI while you're in there!

Also, Casa Grande, thank you too! You probably didn't know it but you're gonna play a part in this elaborate plan! I'll make it up to you guys! :)
