http://twanight.org/newTWAN/galleries.asp?Sort=Country&Value=USA&page=1 Some really interesting night sky photography and time lapse videos here if you're a fan of that kind of thing. I haven't seen any here yet from BiBe but there may be.

Yeah, those are nice thanks. I guess what I meant to say was I didn't know if there were any night skies of BiBe at the twan.org website. I found a search box and couldn't find any. Heck, couldn't find any shot in Texas on it but it is a cool site none the less.

I see Wally Pacholka's photos there at the twanight.org site. His work (and also James' work too  :icon_biggrin:) inspired me a while back to try photographing the Milky Way. I have several night shots from Big Bend on my project page:

Lately, I've tried doing time-lapse videos of the night sky. Here's one that I did in the Hill Country back in December:

Great time lapse. How long was it? That's as good as anything on the twan website.

Thanks! That one was composed of 100 photos played at 8 frames per second. Each photo was shot at: 25 sec., f/1.8, ISO 3200.

It's just a "down-n-dirty" video put together with the free software that comes with Windows. Someday I'll get some real software and assemble a better video of those shots. I'd like to re-do it at 15 frames per second.
best regards,
TJ Avery

Right.... With what I'm shooting with now I top out at ISO 1600 so getting the shots you get are near impossible. Plus my XSi is noisy! My next one is going to be a 5D.

Well, for the time-lapse videos, it's okay if the images are a little noisy. You will be down sizing them a lot (i.e. you'll be making your video at 640 pix wide or maybe even 1000 pix), so you won't notice the noise so much.

We'll arrive Fri at 0600, then head for the Chisos Mtns. On Sunday, we'll go downhill and decide what to do next. We'll depart on the 12th or 13th.
