Pinhole Camera
« on: June 17, 2010, 02:39:22 PM »
I made this camera in 1983 when I was 12 years old. It was my first dive into photography and helped me learn the basic principles.  You strap a 126 film cartridge to it, no longer available, and slide the 'shutter' open for a few seconds and voilГ !  It was my first camera and I made it out of card board, electrical tape and tin foil.  I learned it from Mr. Wizard, God rest his soul.  Priceless, not for sale. :p

Very cool indeed!

Of course, there are still Holga's available for 120 film that make some really neat photos from light leakage, and they are super cheap.

We used to build pinhole cameras back when I used to shoot industrial xrays and used the same film we shot welds with. Surprisingly good images.

My Panasonic Lumix had a setting for "pinhole" camera.

High tech solution to a low tech result!
