Trying to shoot through the binocular lens with my cell phone and simultaneously push the button on the phone screen through the screen protector certainly tried my patience. So many times I had everything lined up and couldn't get the phone to take the picture (I was going to say get the shutter to click, but I don't think cell phones actually have shutters..do they?) The other times it took a photo just a nano second after everything came out of alignment. The hawk in my neighbors tree had food underfoot so he was patient with me and I was able to get a few (https://fartymarty.smugmug.com/Nature/Backyaed-Hawk/) out of the hundred or so that I tried to take. My finger hurts.  :P ::)

Nice fm! At least you got a "keeper". When I do stuff like that I usually get nothing worth showing.

Was in NM a few weeks back and met a gentlemen using one of these at Williams Lake to photograph the bighorn  on the slopes below Wheeler Peak.  Pretty cool tool for taking wildlife pics.

I had a similar experience last week.  The beach water was beautiful and I couldn't understand the loss of clarity when I took pictures with my phone.  Then I realized it was largely due to my sunglasses.  So I spent the next 10 minutes trying to shoot through the lens of my Maui Jims.  Countless pictures caught the lens frame or wrong angle before I finally got that "are you in the Caribbean?" shot.

Thanks bk!

I was thinking about making my own, but these don't look bad. The universal mini adapter looks as though it could be used on my telescope (when used as a spotting scope, not for astro-photography other than sun filter photos)  as well as my unlisted binocs.

So Hang', are you going to make us beg?  :icon_lol:
