I thought there was a "law" on the books in Texas prohibiting the sell of alcohol / wine by mail in Texas?

Quote
And the latest U.S. Supreme Court ruling, which struck down state laws in Michigan and New York banning interstate wine orders by mail, may result in further expansion of local wineries, continuing a trend that has been in progress for the past several years, Texas and New Mexico wine industry leaders said.

but I stand corrected.

You will have to give us a full report.

BLANCO and CHENIN BLANC look tempting.  I'm still partial to Ste. Genevieve Wines

Ah, I can pass on the red, even if it's free.  Probably too many bad experiences in my youthful days with the finest red wine of all - Mad Dog 20-20.   :icon_wink:

I remember (back in high school; I was legal being 18 at the time) buying a fine wine in a smallish strange bottle...Lancers I think it was...truly the epitome of cheap wine.   :vomit:

I too was legal then and there was a small roundish bottle that everyone had to have, Matuse I believe.  Of course there was Boone's Farm to give on a really bad morning after too. :eusa_naughty:

Was this the bottle?

This is what I used to buy. Still available! I think a bottle was around $1.99 when I was in HS in the '70s. I drink a slightly better wine now!   :eusa_dance:

No that's not it but I knew that one in HS too.  The Matuse appears to be long gone from the shelves now, no loss.  It was an almost round bottle from one side and flat looking the other way with a short neck.  I am glad my modest cellar contains mostly good reds now.  :eusa_dance:

That is why I like St. Genevieve's.  It's inexpensive but tastes every bit as good as the higher priced wines.

Did you hear of the study that was done with people tasting the same three wines with two different prices.  Most picked the wine they thought was more expensive even though it was the same!!

I saw that Voni! The human brain is very interesting!

My current favorite has a taste I like, comes in a large bottle, and only costs about $6.00 a bottle. Not sure it would still be my favorite if it cost 3X as much!
