Video crew to visit

SANDERSON – A film crew shooting a feature for a new website plans to visit Sanderson Monday in a trip coordinated by AdventGX of College Station.

The filming is part of a new project named http://www.BigBendWithKids.com, a web site not yet active.

“We will be traveling though your region with our intern crew, seven kids ages nine to 17,” AGX President Jose Quintana said. “They will be filming and documenting activities suitable for families with kids.”

AGX conducted a day-long hearing in Sanderson last month to explore ways to develop the economy through tourism.

Terrell County hired the firm this spring in an effort to stop some of the thousands of tourists who pass through each year on their way to Big Bend and other attractions in Far West Texas.

“We would like to thank the people of Terrell County for providing us with the needed feedback and priority values for the Terrell County Economic and Tourism Development Initiative,” Quintana said. “We are in the process of scheduling our Report Review itinerary with the project board, including the incorporation of suggested implementation methods.”

In addition to the public meeting in Sanderson, an executive board was created which provided feedback to the AGX study.

“Once the report is approved by the board, we will submit the results and final report to you and members of your community,” Quintana said. “We have tentatively scheduled our review meetings during the last week of July so if you have any new developments or suggestions that you would like to share with the project team please let us know.”

Quintana said he learned though the Terrell County News Leader that the county had hired Monty Hunter of Odessa to begin planning for a Convention Center and other county projects.
