Ritual bloodletting among the prehistoric hunters and gatherers of Northern Coahuila, Mexico:

"Cueva Pilote, a small cave well-hidden in the precipitous canyons of the Sierra Encantada in northern Coahuila, produced an artifact assemblage that can best be explained in the context of ritualized auto-sacrifice, or bloodletting, a custom well-documented in the complex societies of Mesoamerica."

This is a great webpage, not only do i have a lot of reading material, but some of the sites (Ranch owners) also live in this area. A great excuse to learn more of the places and probably schedule a trip to the Sierra sites.

 Check out the Webpage

Thank you Badknees, this is a great link.

More and more this is tickling my fancy...

I remember wayback when i went to Sierra La Encantada, we had a blast and went to check ou this cave where we started digging. We found a Sandal, some speerheads, rock mortars, and other artifacts. Which we gave them all to the Ranch Owner.

 Some pictures of this cave...

On top of this ridgeline, it is impossible to see from the ground

The view , from the top of the cave line, where you can see this spectacular valley filled with oregano plants allover and the smells just kill you in delight. Pronghorn, Bison, Mule Deer, White Tail and other species are abundant.

The view  back down to the truck...steep, indeed.

Fueron a la cueva o no?. Las fotos arriba de Cuesta de Malena estan increibles.

Gerardo (Guc126), este es el punto que te mencionaba visitar (On top of Cuesta de Malena), an area I have always wanted to explore.Beign that it is so high up and it has a passable dirt road, 4x4 obligated here.

Saludos.
