That is a magnificent, comprehensive presentation of the natural resources and their truly global significance.  Six weeks til I get to be back down there.

Kinda like Wolf-Brand Chili... well... That's too long!

Thanks bdann and Homero...
Funny... I have a story about that...

Oh Bdann...good morning. ...Yes .

This brochure,  EL Carmen-Big Bend , relates to the many landscapes this enormus corridor have. 4.5 million Hectarres.  People , just to mention 4.5 MILLION HECTARES is too large to contemplate. The Transfronterizo Corridor (Transborder Corridor) reaches the lands of the Valle Colombia, absolutely all of the Serranias del Burro, in the middle the great Chihuahuan Desert, all the way south to El Ca?on de Santa Elena. In the United states covers: Big Bend State Park , Big Bend National Park and Blackgap Wildlife Management Area...see page # 8 of the brochure.

All this is part of the great effort of your past president Eisenhower who tried to form, back in 1944 this International Peace Park but was not succesfull with the Mexican Government at the time. Being an idea, whose time had no yet come.

Since then Big Bend was formed, later Black Gap was added to the park concept and lately the Mexican side picked up the trend to get in to the conservation wagon...and many ranchers with big spreads followed. There are many aspects of this brochure that i need to expose. But i will start with th translation of each page. To help out in the understanding.

All of this is greatly expanded, information wise on the book: The Call of the Mountains, by Patricio Roblesgil and depicts, in detail how the international organizations, seen on page # 10, are involed in th Maderas del Carmen region ..and Sierra del Burro as well.

More information , as i translate this for you.

You topped yourself  again, Brian: Thank you ...so much.

Homero.
Stay thirsty, my friends.

To speed things up, you might try using BabelFish or Google as a first crack at translation.  Then you only have to correct what it gets wrong.

Well, here it goes. Page 1 & 2...BTW, thank you RichardM, your advise really helped here:

                              A FUTURE VISION

" THE CONSERVATION OF VAST WILD SPACES HAS BECOME ONE OF THE GREATER CHALLENGES THAT  HUMANITY MUST FACE IN THIS NEW CENTURY. THANKS TO OUR INCREASING ESTEEM FOR  NATURE, THIS CHALLENGE OFFERS GREATER OPPORTUNITIES TO US TO DEMONSTRATE WHAT  HUMANITY CAN OBTAIN IF WE WORK UNITED.

IF WE WISHED TO LEAVE TO  FUTURE GENERATIONS AN ABUNDANT BIOLOGICAL PATRIMONY,  WE MUST PUT OUR SIGHTS  VERY HIGH.  THE COMMITTED ERRORS HAVE TAUGHT  US THAT, IN THE MATTER OF CONSERVATION, THE SIZE OF THE AREA AT ISSUE IS OF VITAL IMPORTANCE.  WE NEEDED TO CONSERVE GREAT PROTECTED  NATURAL AREAS BY MEANS OF INTACT BIOLOGICAL CORRIDORS.  THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO PRESERVE THE BIODIVERSITY AND TO ASSURE, IN THE LONG TERM, THE SUVIVAL OF AUTHENTIC WILD AREAS.

THE REGION OF EL CARMEN AND BIG BEND IS, WITH OUT A DOUBT, A PRIORITY OF WORLD-WIDE CONSERVATION AND A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF THIS VISION.

THANKS TO THE LONG TERM COMMITMENT OF SEVERAL MEXICAN AND AMERICAN ORGANIZATIONS, WE CAN ASSURE THAT THIS EXPERIENCE WILL BE REASON FOR INSPIRATION FOR THE GENERATIONS OF  COMING CENTURIES.  THIS INITIATIVE INDICATES THE BIRTH OF A TYPE OF BINATIONAL COOPERATION WITHOUT PRECEDENTS, IN WHICH INDIVIDUAL, CATTLEMAN ,  GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS,  CONSERVATION ORGANIZATIONS AND CORPORATIONS , HAVE UNITED FORCES  TO PROTECT A TRANSBORDER BIOLOGICAL  INTERNATIONAL MEGACORREDOR
."
Stay thirsty, my friends.
