Let me remind you,at the very beggining of the discussion, i didn't go there.I wasn't a member, BUT after easter week the club is scheduling to got there again. We need bigger better pictures of the mine,we have no pics of the mine complex, we need GPS coordinates fot the Google feature, i want plenty of pictures of that Spaguetti western church, on the hill. I want to see if i can break that concrete slab on the Mexican side...get some tourist flowing thru there,i dunno....get more info, basically.

Shane A, your space is waiting here with your pictures, man.
Stay thirsty, my friends.

I'll post my La Linda pics, soon.  ? - when are you heading over to La Linda?  How long does it take to get from Presidio/Ojinaga to La Linda and the mine?  I don't have a clue if/where we are going anywhere over Easter - up in the air right now.  But, if I was in the area we might try to catch up or something - too bad we can't meet at the La Linda bridge and easily cross over - heck we couldn't even shake hands.  This whole border crossing situation SUCKS BIG TIME!   Ok, let's form a protest!  Everyone meet on a certain date/time in BIBE and we will cross over en-mass to Boquillias and have a brewsky and then all 10,000 of us will cross back over.  Arrest us all!  (Of course, I'm probably the only one they'd arrest!)

Uh..I don't know. Maybe I could take you all to a place where the thicket is so green you wouldn't believe it. And those mountain tops on the foreground are a good 40 miles straight to the Big Bend Area...straight.
Stay thirsty, my friends.

Something for You to Investigate.
« Reply #40 on: April 08, 2006, 10:45:44 PM »
Homerboy2u2 - got something for you maybe to investigate next time you are down at La Linda.  Found these on a USGS Topographical Map several years ago, but have never been down that part of the river to see what is there.  There is something listed as "industrial zone abandoned".  There appears to be a road up to it, but unfortunatley the USGS topo does not "extend" far enough to see where it goes to.  There also appears to be a trail of some sort.

This will give you a general reference of where I am referring to.

This is the actual coordinates of the abandoned industrial zone.

This one points out the trail that I was referring to.

And Maybe, bright and early in the morning, just by sheer luck you would stump on some Pronghorn Antelope, very but very close to the Bend area. And you still. wouldn't believe it.

That's a promise Shane...I will get to it, with my friends at the earliest. Meanwhile take a look what's so near the La Linda Bridge as well....well near to us is a good 50-60 km away.

That guy on the left, is my brother in law...Mountain country pure and BIG

Wish you could cross over at La Linda, ShaneA...everybody and share this ultimate experience. But, looks like , if coming you will have to go ALL the way around in to Eagle Pass,Tx.
Stay thirsty, my friends.

Or instead of taking you to that little church in La Linda, just maybe i could take you to a smaller church...near nowhere...all surrounded by mountains , you'd say: Homero why are we waisting time detouring from the road to La Linda-Boquillas, at all.

And awaiting us is one of the best kept secrets in the mountains, where some awsome interior church decor awaits us...

That's me,completely at awe...for a good 15-20 minutes...

And you would get to see, some spectacular tile work, like I for one have never seen

Would you believe me, if i told you? :?:
Stay thirsty, my friends.
