Awesome photos. The shots of Boquillas bring back memories of happier times, and, wow, do I want to explore that old mine!

Joe Falcon's circa 1983. There was a 55 gallon drum with a wash tub on it fired up, making manudo, which is the source of the smoke.

Nope  :eusa_naughty:...not on my account: Knock yourselfs out with ancdotes, stories to share, souvenirs..what ever. I can always start my trip report tomorrow.

What my gut feeling was speculating turned out to be right. Boquillas del Carmen, will bring back many fond memories to many in this board. If any of you have more pics and stories to share,go right ahead. You do not bother me, can not cut in me,offend me or take advantage of me. This is your thread and yours to enrich.

Maсana, i will start to share my story. Until then, nighty night... Sleepy's trip report kind of put me in the mood to turn in early.
Stay thirsty, my friends.

Well our trip had been planned weeks before as it should be. We had planned to leave for Sierra del Carmen for Octuber the 24th but by the weild of the hand of God, many mechanical issues started to arise that one by one they were ditching their 4x4 vehicles in the mechanic's shop. I could not belive our bad luck, but it was there..right in front of us, laughing at our faces and we had nothing to do  but to suck it up. Man, let me tell you i was honest to God Frustated just to see my buddies vehicles downed by one thing or another and only my truck was ready to go,locked and loaded.

In all honesty, i was the only one who knew where we were heading and how tough it was going to be.

Well, there was nothing left to do, but to hit the sack and think of an alternative,i was very dissapointed that our schedule trip did not happened on the day we were ready to leave, i was not alone feeling this frustation rattle our pride. My other buddies were feeling the same sentiment in their homes and i had to do something.

At first light, i started calling each and every single one of them to see if they were still eager to go and when could be another window of opoortunity open to tackle our beloved Sierra del Carmen. November 07, would eventually turn out to be our next date we would shoot for  to go out on a backtrail trip. We could let ourselves let down because of this and we aimed for the next date to do this for real.

Homero, that truck picture was great.  What a shine!  Obviously at the start of the trip.  What happened?

Thing is Al, since our beloved administrator is fixing the NEW look on our webpage, and we have downed the "preview" button i was doing a test to see how i was going to post the pics here. Now back to our movie.... :icon_biggrin:

Friday November 7 came, i could not catch any sleep the prior night and was layed flat on my bed , but with ny eyes open. To many things were going 100 mph in my head, too many issues i was reviewing one and two times to made sure nothing was left back, or left out for this trip. I could not wait for morning to come...i guess i was not alone, for later in the trip everyone was saying they had not slept the night before....we were just to eager to get this going.
Stay thirsty, my friends.
