Last month I hiked up Laguna Meadows to the overlook and ate lunch before hiking back down. I really enjoyed this hike...and the lunch. The hike was slightly challenging. The views were wonderful. The food tasted good since I had worked up an appetite. The whole affair only took a few hours. So I got to thinking...there must be lots of "lunch" hikes worth doing on days you may not want to do a lot of hiking but still want to get out and experience part of BB. The Laguna Meadows Overlook hike is one worth doing as a "lunch" round trip. The hike down the Window Trail and up to the Oak Spring overlook comes to mind as another. I'm defining a "lunch" hike as a hike of 2 hours or less (one way) that leads to a nice place to have...lunch...for example. The lunch stop should have a nice view, historical significance, something to make it worth hiking out to. I know that's pretty vague but really, to each his own as far as what is worth hiking out to see.Sooo...what "lunch" hikes would you all suggest? If you're really in shape and really fast, maybe the South Rim could be a "lunch" hike but not for most of us mere mortals. I'm looking for less strenuous suggestions! Thanks! Bill
