Posted for the record: Area guide, author,  world traveler, and Alpine resident  Jim Glendinning has passed away.

Sounded like a neat guy.  Wish I knew about some of these people before the obituary.

Prior to our first Big Bend trip some years ago we read one of his guide books enough times to memorize it. The Ms. and I had always intended to stay at his B&B when he operated that, and then more recently go on one of his tours to Copper Canyon. But between one thing and another we never got around to it and now it's too late. Lesson to be learned there!
