Title: Passing of a true friend
Post by: Txlj on May 02, 2018, 07:58:27 PM
A friend of mine passed today, Jeffery Buzz Ross of Fort Davis. Most knew him as the snake guy there as he owned Rattlers and Reptiles in Fort Davis. Being this is part of the Big Bend , I just wanted to pass the information along.

I borrow this link to an article about him from the Houston Chronicle.

What a great article. Jeffery Ross sounds like an absolutely fascinating man. I'm sad I never met him. Though, come to think of it, I might have. Growing up in the 1960's and early 70's near Ft. Worth, I made many a trip to its zoo and to the Museum of Science and History. I'm sure we must have crossed paths at least once back then. Reading this article makes me wish I'd crossed paths with him after I was all grown up. Then again, considering how much time I've spent in Ft. Davis over the last 25 years, he and I might have bumped into each other there, too, without knowing it.

The article is a beautiful tribute to him, Txlj.  RIP, Jeffery Ross.

Thanks very much House. He did alot of work with the film industry in the Bend. Wrangling snakes and spiders and such during filming of several movies in the area. He was quite the character.
