This is the message that needs to get out: The Entire Bend is Creepy and Abandoned!  There is no reason to move out there or visit out there.
Leave "quit" at the car.  Embrace the trail as your friend.  Expect to enjoy yourself, and to be amazed.

Au contraire. Yes the article is lame, but it was not written for any of us.

It was written to ENTICE people who've never been the to region to come see what it's all about.

'Only In Your State' is a marketing business and their 'Get Featured' tab explains what usually is found in 'About' tabs on other websites.

To wit:

Quote
Who We Are

OnlyInYourState exists for one primary reason: to show people in states all across America that there are so many more things to do than they could imagine. Whether itís a hidden waterfall, a unique diner, or a must-see attraction, OiYS covers it. We have literally generated tens of millions of dollars of new business through our organic, carefully-curated articles in the 50 states.

Why Work With Us

Because thereís no better way in the world to get new customers than through organic virality. You have a great business that just needs eyeballs. We have a massive, amazing audience. Itís a win-win formula. Though we will never compromise the integrity of our editorial, sponsored content can be equally effective.

How To Get Featured

Reach out to us! We are always looking for awesome businesses to feature on our site. We have several great, effective ways to promote your business. Please contact us at:

advertise@onlyinyourstate.com

Their sole mission is to generate business and, therefore, increase traffic to the places they hightlight.

They sell t-shirts with roots growing into state outlines (https://shop.onlyinyourstate.com/)

They call them roots. I see tentacles reaching in. Your interpretation may vary.

The design is a tiny bit creepy if viewed as tentacles--

Now we're talking!  Let's list all of the dangerously dangerous dangers that one can avoid by never traveling south of HWY 90.

Multiple varieties of rattlesnakes.
Mountain LIONS (not the kindly Lion-King kind).
Really mean bears (jeez - they came over from Mexico - they are MALO DESPERADO Bears).
Adjacent to the lawless, dangerous, and out-of-control BORDER (yikes).
And the LOCALS who gather at the bar at the Starlight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Leave "quit" at the car.  Embrace the trail as your friend.  Expect to enjoy yourself, and to be amazed.
