Beer castle?

Sort of unclear on what exactly I'm looking at here. Brewery? Museum? Outfitter? Apparently yes?

What I learned:

Live somewhere for 1 year and you are a local.  Sounds like an "Austinite"

"Anything you take to the desert that you call beer is rare"    :eusa_think:   I must agree with him. For me,  it almost always happens around camp in the late evening.  But fortunately, after going to the store the next morning, not so rare.

" They see it as evolving into a commercial venture, a sort of travel agency (“but less lame,” Drewry says) where adventure seekers and beer lovers could come to stage paddle trips or hiking excursions, and create art or music, all against that prickly West Texas backdrop."  Unfortunately the NPS has already corned the market on his dream.  But I must agree, they are lame.

The best quote  "I really want to pimp Big Bend out in the best way."   A Big Bend Chicken Ranch!  I sure hope this guy succeeds!

This article is exactly why the American Statesman is doing so well.  Good stuff for a Friday afternoon.  Thanks for sharing.

The Tolerant Left  Masters of the Universe at Apple, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Criteo, Vimeo and Spotify removed Alex Jones and other conservative voices.  Liberals control every newspaper and cable network except Fox.  They so want to control the Internet and talk radio

May God bless America

This one was pretty interesting too. Is this guy a supporter? Hard to tell.
“Tony has had a lot of ideas that don’t make sense to anybody but him,” Pond says. “He kind of does what he wants to do, and it seems to benefit a lot of other people.”

It will certainly be a castle to something.

It's happening at the former (or once and future) Boathouse.

As a grizzled, cynical veteran of the Terlingua restaurant/bar business, I don't think they have a chance in Hades of succeeding. But even Austin beer snob hipsters have the right to give it a shot...

Last time I was in Terlingua, the only laundromat had shut down with no plans of reopening. We had to go all the way to Rio Grande village (where we ran into HMOD).  Tasty craft beer was, however, quite available.  Just sayin!

Sent from the future.

As more and more people venture into National Parks, entrepreneurs are going to look to capitalize on it.

While I don't think Big Bend will reach this level - take a look at Zion. While it's a fantastic park - the town of Springdale is tailor made for people who want to experience a national park without disconnecting from the conveniences of the modern world.

I'll stop in for a beer and to check it out. But, I will always take a cold beer at my campsite. Plenty of bars in this world, I don't need to go to Big Bend to be at one.
